Job summary

Leupold & Stevens, Inc. in Beaverton, OR seeks a Tool & Die Maker 1 to support a high-performance manufacturing team. You’ll fabricate, repair, and improve tooling while reading blueprints and operating CNC machines in a dynamic setting.

You will work with GD&T, shop mathematics, and CAM software, and mentor apprentices as part of a skilled, safety-conscious shop environment. A signing bonus and relocation options are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of trade school and 2+ years related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Tool and Die Making practices, GD&T, and metal properties.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from sketches or verbal descriptions.
• Previous CNC programming experience is required.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with CAM software is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes specifications, sets up and operates machine tools, fabricates, maintains and repairs dies and tooling.
• Sets up and operates manual and CNC machines to design and build tooling.
• Works from blueprints and models to modify and repair tools, dies and gages.
• Measures and marks metal stock, ensures conformance to specifications.
• Trains new employees or apprentices and assists with project management.
