Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Machinist to repair, assemble, and fabricate dies, tools, jigs, gauges, and fixtures for high-speed automated equipment. You will set up lathes, milling machines, and grinders, interpreting blueprints to ensure parts meet exact specs.

The role requires 2+ years in a similar environment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work daily and weekend overtime.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Tool & Die or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is required.
• 2+ years hands on Mechanical / Tooling / Manufacturing Experience in an automated industrial environment, stamping or molding fabrication is preferred.
• Proficient at all aspects of precision machining and form grinding.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
• Possesses manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others across all departments.
• Must be able to work daily and weekend overtime.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs bench and machining operations to repair, alternate or construct dies, tools, jigs, gauges and fixtures.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, grinder to machine parts and verify conformance.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or models to determine materials and machines to use.
• Performs die or mold changeovers.
• Support and implement continuous improvement within tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Adjusts tools, dies, presses, machines, fixtures and other equipment to produce parts of the required quality.
• Maintains quality standards with precision work within close tolerances using measuring instruments.
• Check safety devices are in place and in proper operation.
• Makes sketches of parts to be built.
• Records information on forms and computers for record keeping purposes.
