Job summary

Jagemann Stamping is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to operate advanced machining equipment on critical tooling components in a temperature-controlled shop. You’ll interpret blueprints, set up dies, and perform precision, close-tolerance work while maintaining safety and quality standards in First Shift.

Responsibilities include machine setup, fixture design, CNC troubleshooting, and training apprentices, with a focus on tool building, repairs, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus machining or metalworking training.
• Masak programming certification.
• Partial completion of company-specified Machine Tool Operation curriculum.
• CAD/CAM and Solutionware training.
• Journeyman Card in Tool & Die preferred.
• Journeyman Card in Machining.
• Strong knowledge of material machining characteristics.
• Attention to detail and ability to hold close tolerances.
• Familiarity with Environmental Health & Safety procedure.

Responsibilities

• Construct, alter, and repair transfer press dies, blocks, inserts, punches, fingers, slides, and mechanical press parts.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal descriptions; perform close-tolerance work.
• Machine hardened steels, carbide, and exotic materials; adjust speeds/feeds.
• Devise fixtures/holding devices; develop soft jaws for non-standard parts.
• Participate in design and development of new/experimental tooling; analyze problems and implement action.
• Direct work of and train apprentices and pressroom technicians; provide CNC troubleshooting guidance.
