Job summary

American Orthodontics Corporation in Wisconsin seeks a skilled machinist to fabricate, modify, and repair die sets, tooling, fixtures and related devices. You will read prints and CAD data, set up lathes, EDM and milling machines, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of bench repair experience, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and readiness to work up to 8–10 hours daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of bench repair experience including assembly, machinery upkeep, die repair, inspection, die/fixture building, welding and heat treating.

Responsibilities

• Machine parts from prints and models.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges using measuring instruments.
• Set-up and operate machining equipment such as lathes, EDM, milling machines, grinders, drill presses and saws.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair or modify tooling, dies, jigs, gauges and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
• Troubleshoot punch press tooling, progressive punch press dies and presses up to 20 ton.
• Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools.
• Validate completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of previous experience in bench repair, including assembly, machinery, up-keep, layout, die repair, inspection, die and/or fixture building, welding and heat treating.
• Ability to read and understand sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) files
• Master Cam
• Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per day
• Mustbe able to lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds occasionally
