Job summary

Aermican Orthodontics is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Technician to fabricate, modify and repair tooling and dies. You will machine parts from prints, verify with precision instruments, and set up various machine tools such as lathes, EDM, and milling machines.

The role requires reading CAD files, ensuring tight tolerances, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The ideal candidate has a Journeyman Tool & Die credential or equivalent, with 2 years in bench repair, assembly, inspection and tool building.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Tool & Die required.
• 2 years of bench repair experience including assembly, machinery upkeep, layout, die repair and fixture building.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings or CAD files.
• Mastercam experience.
• Must stand 8–10 hours daily and lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates, modifies or repairs die sets, tooling, fixtures and miscellaneous tooling.
• Machine parts from prints and models.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances with measuring instruments.
• Set up and operate lathes, EDM, milling machines, grinders, drill presses and saws.
• Fit and assemble parts to create or modify tooling and dies.
• Troubleshoot on punch press tooling and dies up to 20 ton.
• Polish surfaces and validate tools meet specifications.
• Perform additional responsibilities to support business objectives.

Job description

Job Summary:

Fabricates, modifies or repairs die sets, tooling, fixtures and miscellaneous tooling.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Machine parts from prints and models
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges using measuring instruments
• Set-up and operate machining equipment such as lathes, EDM, milling machines, grinders, drill presses and saws
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair or modify required tooling, dies, jigs, gauges and tools using machine tools and hand tools
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot on punch press tooling, progressive punch press dies and on presses up to 20 ton
• Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools
• Validate completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Journeyman Tool & Die required.
• 2 years of previous experience in bench repair, including assembly, machinery, up-keep, layout, die repair, inspection, die and/or fixture building, welding and heat treating.
• Ability to read and understand sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) files
• Master Cam
• Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours per day
• Mustbe able to lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds occasionally
