JOB TITLE:1st shift Tool & Die Maker
REPORTS TO:Fabrication Manager
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 8 hr. shifts (Mon-Fri) 7:00 am- 3:00 pm) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.
STARTING PAY: $19.69 to $31.19 per hour.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Manufacture details to print, supporting engineering projects.
- Ability to program CNC equipment, and safely operate standard Tool Room equipment.
- Mark up drawings for “as built” conditions for Engineering updates.
- Manage new tooling projects through Tool Room to project deadlines.
- Support Communications between Engineering and Production
- Assist Engineering, Production, and Set-up personnel with tooling set-ups and new tooling process verification.
- Work with Engineering and Maintenance for Hydraulic and Pneumatic requirements.
- Construction, Assembly, and Repair of fixtures, dies and jaws.
- Die maintenance as required (repair, sharpening & cleaning) & record repairs.
- Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required.
- Consistently keep Tool Room clean, organized, and hazard free
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What You Will Need:
- Prefer Journeyman Tool & Die maker or equivalent experience(minimum 5 years of tool room experience)
- Must be able to understand decimals, fractions, and tolerances.
- Able to read and understand inspection tools. (Micrometers, calipers, comparator).
- CNC programming.
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must also pass a skills-based test.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
- Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
