Job summary

Mayzon seeks a skilled Tool & Die Maker responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures. You will diagnose tooling issues, perform precision machining, and ensure components meet exact tolerances.

The role requires reading blueprints and CAD drawings, documenting repairs, and upholding safety standards in a clean, organized shop. Candidates should work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be a fully qualified skilled tradesperson capable of independent work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Perform precision machining, grinding, welding, EDM, and polishing.

Job description

The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for the fabrication, repair, and precision maintenance of tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in production. This role requires a fully qualified skilled tradesperson who can work independently, diagnose complex tooling issues, and perform precision machining and repair work with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in production.
• Diagnose tooling issues and independently determine appropriate repair methods.
• Fabricate replacement components to exact tolerances.
• Precision Machining & Inspection
• Perform precision machining, grinding, welding, EDM, and polishing on tooling components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, engineering specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Verify completed work meets dimensional and functional specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshooting, Documentation & Improvement
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, modifications, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot tooling failures and recommend design or process improvements to help prevent recurrence.
• Communicate tooling conditions, repair status, and technical concerns to department supervision and applicable internal teams.
• Safety & Shop Standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and required PPE practices
