Job summary

Be Cu Manufacturing Co Inc is seeking a skilled machinist/tool maker to create and repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to customer specifications. The role requires interpreting blueprints and plans, selecting tools, and setting up machine operations to ensure precise outputs.

The candidate will apply shop math, know metal properties, and maintain a safe, orderly work environment while following all safety and policy guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent; 4 years certified apprenticeship.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, job orders, sketches, or verbal descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets specifications such as blueprints, job orders, sketches, or verbal descriptions and plans sequence of operations.
• Fits and assembles parts to make or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gages, or machinist’s hand tools.
• Continually applies knowledge of tool design, shop math, metal properties, layout, machining, and assembly procedures.
• Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, gage blocks, and optical comparators.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, stamping presses, milling machines, swaggers, and grinders to correct specifications.
• Verifies the part after stamping for configuration to specification.
• Designs and assembles tools as required.
• Reports discrepancies to management immediately.
• Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean orderly, and safe manner.
• Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
