Job summary

MAT Industries LLC in Jackson, TN is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, repair, and modification of stamping and forming equipment at our Jackson facility.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting stamping dies, providing feedback for die PMs, and assisting in new die development. A 40-hour week with potential overtime is typical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications to stamping & forming equipment.
• Report to the Tool Room Supervisor and follow instruction.
• Maintain and troubleshoot stamping dies, presses, benders, and related tooling.
• Assist in development and modification of stamping dies to extend life and improve quality.
• Perform general machine shop work using mills, lathes, grinders.
• Submit purchase requisitions for parts and components.

Job Description

This person will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and modifications to stamping & forming equipment at the Jackson TN facility. This person will report to the Tool Room Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management and outside contactors

• Perform routine preventative maintenance & repairs on both progressive & single stroke metal stamping dies

• Assist in troubleshooting issues with stamping & forming equipment including stamping dies, presses, benders, etc.

• Provide feedback on adjustments needed to die PMs to reduce downtime & improve part quality.

• Perform general machine shop work using conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc.

• Assists in development of new stamping dies & modifications to existing dies to extend life & improve part quality.

• Submit purchase requisition for parts & components needed for die repair & maintenance.

• Identify critical parts & make recommendations on spares components to inventory.
