Job summary

Accelera in Glendale is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to create new tooling and repair existing equipment. You will design fixtures, dies, and tooling using CAD/CAM (AutoCAD) and ensure compatibility with vendor/client systems.

The role requires 5+ years of tooling experience, CNC programming/operation, strong CAD/CAM skills, and a HS diploma. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with hours 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional background in tools and dies manufacturing and design.
• Proficient in programming and operation of CNC machinery.
• Strong CAD/CAM skills, especially AutoCAD, for tooling schematics.
• Excellent English communication and basic math ability.
• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Hands-on experience with tool steel and standard steel materials.
• Solid understanding of heat treatment processes and properties.

Responsibilities

• Execute machining tasks by interpreting drawings, blueprints or verbal guidance.
• Maintain high quality by machining tight-tolerance components across various materials.
• Set up and changeover CNC machinery; operate tooling and dies.
• Design fixtures, dies, and tooling using CAD/CAM tools (AutoCAD).
• Keep shop floor organized and fully operational.

Schedule: Full-time, temp-to-hire position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Compensation: $30 to $40 per hour, commensurate with your professional background.

We are a rapidly expanding fabrication facility based in Glendale that focuses on precision sheet metal work and custom, cost-effective metal stamping. Our team is currently seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to contribute to our operations.

Role Overview

Your primary focus will be the creation of new tooling as well as the ongoing upkeep and repair of our current equipment. You will be tasked with detailing and designing fixtures, dies, tooling, and various manufacturing components. This work involves utilizing CAD/CAM programs—specifically AutoCAD—to ensure all designs remain compatible with the systems used by our vendors and clients.

Key Duties

• Execute machining tasks by interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, or direct verbal guidance.
• Ensure high-quality output by managing intricate, tight-tolerance components across a variety of materials.
• Contribute to a more efficient production environment by keeping the shop floor tidy, orderly, and fully operational.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional background in the manufacturing and design of tools and dies.
• Practical experience in both the programming and operation of CNC machinery.
• Strong command of CAD/CAM tools like AutoCAD to draft, adjust, and analyze production and tooling schematics, with bonus points for familiarity with other platforms.
• Effective communication skills in English, including the ability to follow spoken directions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Hands-on experience working with tool steel and standard steel materials.
• Solid understanding of heat treatment processes and various tool steel properties.
