Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years of tool and die making experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of machining, heat treating, metallurgy, and precision measuring instruments.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and operation is strongly preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects and lead by example.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, assemble, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in production.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment to fabricate precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production of tools and dies.
• Conduct inspections, measurements, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality standards are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling and dies to minimize production downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and modifications on existing tooling to extend lifespan and improve performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to optimize tooling solutions.
• Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior toolmakers and apprentices.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
