A leading company is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to join their team in Davenport, IA. The role involves building and repairing various tools and dies, operating precision machines, and ensuring quality through inspections. The hours for this role are7:00am - 3:30pm
The hourly rate for this position is$38.13per hour.

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for building and repairing all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
In this function you will:
• Operate an array of precision machines, such as conventional lathes, mills, and drillpresses, and CNCs
• Determines specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring and gaugingtools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.
• Use various hand tools and measuring devices
• Plans and performs the set-up and operation of all types of machine shop tools,considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolant, lubricants, andmachine feeds and speeds
• Perform various phases of deburring operations
• Monitor work to ensure that the machine is not malfunctioning
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
• Must possess current journeyman’s status as a Tool Maker from an accredited tool makingapprenticeship program
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and withinthe future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently residewithin 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service membercandidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to theInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. personswithin the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S.Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Position Criteria:
• Must demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of geometric Tolerancing, trigonometry,and shop math as they relate to specific job duties
• Must be able to read and interpret wide variety of written instructions (including printsand sketches)
• Must be skilled in the use of various kinds of power tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, andmeasuring equipment as required by the job
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work with limited supervision
• Must be able to manufacture to exact specifications using a variety of materials includingmetals (both ferrous and non-ferrous), plastics, glass, laminated stock, rubber, wood, etc.
• Must be able to use the measuring and gauging equipment to perform tasks to exactspecifications
• Must demonstrate a high degree of craftsmanship, independent judgment, and problem solving skill
