Job summary

B&B Specialties is seeking a skilled machinist in Anaheim, CA for a full-time, 2nd shift position. You will set up and operate lathes, honing machines, grinders, and hydraulic presses, and produces carbide inserts to tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, inspect parts with micrometers and calipers, and assemble inserts into die cases while ensuring top quality and punctuality. 40 lbs lifting and standing throughout shift are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Proficient use of inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gages, comparator).
• Attention to detail with math skills to meet tolerances.
• Follow verbal and written work instructions reliably.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, honing machines, surface grinders, and presses.
• Cut, ream, lap, and polish carbide inserts to tight tolerances.
• Assemble inserts into die cases with or without caps/wafers and ensure press fits.
• Apply knowledge of finishes, extrusion relief, angles, and carbide grades.

Job Details: Job Location: Anaheim, CA 92807, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $28.00 - $36.00 Hourly, Job Shift: 2nd Shift, Description

• Set up and operation of lathes, honing machines, surface grinders, hydraulic presses, and other tool room machinery.
• Cutting, reaming lapping, and polishing of carbide inserts to tolerances of .0003"/.0005"
• Knowledge of press fits and ability to assemble a series of inserts with or without a cap/wafer into a die case.
• Understanding of finishes, extrusion relief, angles, radius, venting, carbide grades and other tool making variables.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to analyze and accurately read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings and industry specifications required.
• Proficient in the use of inspection equipment (such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, gages, comparator, etc.).
• Attention to detail with ability to think and act analytically and use mathematics to meet job requirements
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills including listening, speaking, and writing.
• Effective team member, willing to work and communicate with all levels of the business
• Excellent attendance record, including punctuality.
• Ability to work over-time as required including weekends when needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand 90%-100% of shift
