Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Machine Maintenance Engineer for the Bastrop Tool and Die shop in Bastrop, TX. The role drives end-to-end equipment improvements on CNC, EDM, grinders, and related tooling, ensuring high die-build rates and reliable production.

The engineer leads technicians, performs root cause analysis, and coordinates with tooling, manufacturing, and automation teams to build in reliability from design through implementation. A strong emphasis on maintenance planning and PMs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 1+ year hands-on manufacturing experience or internship/project work.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve complex machine-tool failures.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and execute improvement projects to maximize Tool and Die equipment availability.
• Collaborate with tooling, manufacturing, automation teams to build reliability in new equipment.
• Provide leadership for CMMS usage and preventive maintenance updates.
