Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop Tool and Die shop seeks a Machine Maintenance Engineer to own maintenance projects from concept through design and implementation. You will lead technicians and optimize CNC, EDM, grinders, and related equipment to maximize die build rate and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and hands-on manufacturing experience, with opportunity to collaborate across tooling engineering, manufacturing engineering, and automation teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
1+ year hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a machine-shop with CNC tools, EDM, grinders or similar capital equipment.
Experience with MRP/ERP and CMMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve complex machine-tool failures.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
Develop and execute improvements to maximize tool-and-die equipment availability.
Interface with engineering teams to design and implement upgrades.
Create and maintain maintenance instructions and parts planning.
