Job summary

Phoenix Stamping Group is seeking a skilled machinist to maintain and repair dies, punches, tool steel, and fixtures. You will inspect dies, determine repair methods, and perform setup on milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment.

The role requires at least 3 years of machinist experience or a technical diploma, reading blueprints, and a strong safety mindset. Die experience is highly valued; join a team-focused, manufacturing environment with a long-standing

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum verifiable machinist experience or equivalent technical diploma.
• Proficient reading of schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience with dies, punches, and fixtures preferred.
• Ability to perform standard shop computations.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose: Ultimately responsible for minor repair and maintenance of dies, punches, tool steel, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Determine the extent and method of repair to dies by means of careful inspection and accurate measurement.
• Perform repair operations to dies.
• Set up and operate standard milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinder and other machine tools as directed under general supervision.
• Design and manufacture tools and fixtures for new products.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
• Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years minimum verifiable machinist experience and/or Technical Diploma.
• Ability to perform standard shop computations (math).
• Ability to read schematics (blueprints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming and operation is a plus.
• Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments as well as work within a team environment.
• Must have draw die experience
