Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking a Tool and Die Maker Journeyman to lead and support the building of progressive stamping dies and other tooling for our high-volume sheet-metal operation.

You will machine parts using lathe, mill, drill press, surface grinder, and related equipment. You’ll verify dimensions with micrometers and dial indicators, assemble dies from 2D/3D CAD, and ensure finished parts meet specifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in a tool and die shop with progressive dies and tooling
• Ability to read production drawings and interpret CAD/prints
• Knowledge of measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators) and shop math

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the building of progressive stamping dies or other tooling.
• Machine parts using lathe, mill, drill press, and surface grinder; finish die components.
• Assemble dies from 2D/3D CAD; verify dimensions and alignment per production drawings.
