Job summary

Amcor invites applications for a manufacturing-focused role in Evansville. You will engage in manual machining, supervised CNC tasks, and shop upkeep while supporting tooling design and documentation activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Able to use basic Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety in facilities by following caution and support systems.
  • Observe and report equipment non-conformities or threats to product quality.
  • Respond to emergencies according to established procedures.
  • Maintain security of facilities, including controlling access and safeguarding equipment.
  • Pause activities and notify Safety lead for potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with root improvements to products, processes, or systems.
  • Help with day-to-day activities and keep shop clean.
  • Read blueprints and use precision measuring tools to record component dimensions.
  • Generate tooling component CAD models and detail drawings using SolidWorks; support tooling.
  • Misc: organize documents, archive records, and maintain mold manual.
  • Data entry and assist finance, purchasing, scheduling as requested.
  • Create files or logs for shop information and track shipments and efficiencies.

Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Use caution and support systems to assure safety event free facilities
  • Observe, respond and report any instance of equipment non-conformity, or significant threat of resulting non-conforming product
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures
  • Security diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the companies facilities by non-employees, and proper maintenance / security of company equipment and information
  • Pause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environment or employee practices
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
    • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions
  • Assist superiors in any day to day activity
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop
  • Manufacturing area activities:
    • Complete manual machining and supervised CNC machine operation as needed
  • Assist with general shop maintenance:
    • Develop an understanding of machine functions and the setup process.
    • Read blue prints
    • Use precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of components
  • Tooling Design area activities:
    • Generate tooling component CAD models and detail drawings using SolidWorks
    • Participate in reverse engineering activities
    • Maintain and release CAD data for manufacturing
    • Provide technical support as needed for new and existing tooling
  • Miscellaneous activities:
    • Sort and organize hard copy and electronic documents for the Tooling Group
    • Scan Documents and Records for archive purposes
    • Add, edit, replace or remove archive documents as directed
    • Complete Mold Manual maintenance
  • Data Entry:
  • Assist Finance, Purchasing and Scheduling personnel as requested
  • Create files or log shop information as needed
  • Maintain reports related to project shipments, labor, and efficiencies
