Job summary

Weiss-Aug in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a Tool and Die Apprentice to join our precision manufacturing team. You will learn die set-up, operate manual machines, and work closely with experienced die makers on a full-time schedule.

Attend evenings at the Technology and Manufacturing Association for 3 years, complete 10,000 hours of tool and die tasks, and grow skills in stamping, tooling, and inspection while contributing to high-quality production.

Qualifications

• High school manufacturing education or equivalent.
• NIMS safety or equivalent.
• Basic math skills (speed & feeds).
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Machine operation experience preferred for entry roles.
• Willingness to learn on manual machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up metal stamping lines and tool room equipment.
• Machine and mill basic parts to blueprint specs.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines.
• Maintain, assemble progressive tools, jigs, and fixtures.
• Interpret tooling blueprints and use SPC where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with die makers and participate in team challenges.
