Job summary

Ariel Corporation is seeking a Tool Designer in Mount Vernon, OH to transform rough sketches and blueprints into 3D models and assembly drawings for tooling and fixtures supporting production. You’ll merge creativity with engineering rigor to ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective tooling that fits production needs.

You’ll collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Machinists to implement new tools, optimize processes, and drive improvements in safety, quality and productivity across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or related technical field
• 2 to 5+ years of experience in tool, mold, or fixture design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, or other modeling software
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material properties
• Knowledge of machining, heat treating, assembly, and shop-floor manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

• Create detailed schematics, blueprints, and 3D models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
• Choose correct materials based on application for the tooling to ensure safety, high-quality, and cost-effective designs
• Work directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Machinists to integrate new tools into existing processes and practices
• Facilitate and lead continuous improvement tasks related to tool design changes to reduce scrap and cycle-time while improving safety, quality and productivity
