POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Tool Design Engineer I. Under the direction of a manager, supervisor, or lead, this position will provide support to the Tool Engineering team by working on portions of larger projects. Tool Designs will generally be developed by creating CAD models. Stress and/or deflection calculations may be required in the development of the design. This individual will work both independently and as a part of a team to complete specific projects related to the design and development of tooling to address manufacturing requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tool Design Engineer I will utilize limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments in the following areas:

  • Produce tool concept sketches.
  • Review designs of flight hardware components.
  • Create and modify simple tool designs.
  • Participate in reviews of proposed flight hardware designs and evaluate with respect to forming, machining, and processing requirements in support of customer specifications.
  • Assist in determining methodology for assembly of flight hardware, recommending revisions to components in support of optimized manufacturing.
  • Investigate, develop, and verify tool concepts for feasibility.
  • Assist in incorporating safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements in tool designs.
  • Work under general supervision.
  • Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field is preferred and a minimum of 0-4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or related field or the equivalent in training, education and experience.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office products is required. Any experience with CATIA V5 and NX software is a plus.

Annual Salary Range: $59,280 - $98,940

This base pay range is specific to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington, and any other state that may require such disclosure. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
