Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer I. Working under the supervision of a project manager, engineering manager, supervisor, or lead designer, the Design Engineer I will be assigned to provide design support for specifically defined portions of a larger project. This individual will receive general instructions on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new assignments. This individual will work both independently and as a member of the larger engineering team. Tasks will include the development of aircraft structural layouts and the design of individual components, assemblies, and installations. Engineering materials will include metals, nonmetals, and composite structural materials. Tasking may also include limited design and integration of aircraft mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, environmental control systems and a variety of other equipment and systems as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Design Engineer I will receive instructions on task specifications and design constraints and will be expected to utilize a limited level of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks in the following areas:

  • Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodologies, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables.
  • Normally focuses on existing products and processes.
  • Possesses the ability to research and develop limited structural engineering layouts.
  • Able to create conceptual layouts and design of components, assemblies and installations.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified engineering field.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge utilizing CATIA V5 engineering design software.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
  • Provides creativity and latitude when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Requires a BSME, BSCE, BSAE, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and a minimum of 0-4 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5, Solidworks, or other 3D design software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office products.

Subject to eligibility, terms, and conditions

Annual Salary Range: $59,280 - $98,940

This base pay range is specific to residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Washington, and any other state that may require such disclosure. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
