Job summary

Marle Elite in Bartlett, TN is seeking a Tool Distribution & Inventory Specialist to manage, inventory, and distribute tools, equipment and consumables. You will ensure tools are in working order, track usage, prepare job kits, and support various departments while meeting customer and quality objectives.

Essential duties include maintaining accurate inventory, issuing tools to machinists, inspecting and repairing tools, ordering replacements, and keeping the tool crib organized.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Machinist; experience in tool management or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to identify industrial tools and equipment.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Track the distribution of tools and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Issue tools to employees, setting up tooling for machinist, and transporting tools to the departments.
• Inspect tools for wear or damage, performing repairs, and sending tools for resharpening or calibration.
• Order new tools and consumables to replenish stock.

Position Overview:Manages, inventories, and distributes tools, equipment and consumables; ensures tools are in working order, track usage to minimize losses, prepare job kits and manage inventory via software and ensure that Marle Elite’s requirements are met while meeting the requirements of the customer and quality objectives of Marle.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Track the distribution of tools and materials and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Issue tools to employees, setting up tooling for machinist, and transporting tools to the departments.
• Inspect tools for wear or damage, performing repairs, and sending tools for resharpening or calibration.
• Order new tools and consumables to replenish stock
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool crib to improve efficiency.
• Follow Marle’s safety and environmental procedures.
• Work with all departments to provide assistance if needed.
• Follow written and verbal directions from manager and/or company officers.
• Perform non-routine tasks assigned by manager and/or company officers.

Qualification Requirements:

• Certification as a Machinist; previous experience in tool management, manufacturing preferred.

Physical Skills: Ability to use a telephone, computer, copy and fax machine to perform required duties.
Other Skills & Abilities: Ability to identify various industrial tools and manufacturing equipment. Strong organizational, communication and record-keeping. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient knowledge in using a computer and Office applications as well as comfort in learning new software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long period at an office desk and walk from and to computer and file cabinets. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to feel and use a computer, file material, answer the phone and perform duties that require writing skills. The duties require continuous mental or visual attention and ability to handle short cycle repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works with and/or near moving mechanical parts, fumes and air-borne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically noisy. Hearing protection is not required for normal duties but may be required for some special situations.
