Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Springfield, OH is seeking a Tool Crib Supervisor to manage tooling inventory, purchasing and tracking for aerospace manufacturing, including CNC tooling on the shop floor.

You will lead tool crib personnel, implement policies, maintain tooling database, work with engineers on part introductions, coordinate purchasing, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership/Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience negotiating tooling prices and managing vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tool crib and tooling functions, including supervision of tool crib personnel.
• Develop and implement methods, policies, and procedures to deploy best practices in tool crib related matters.
• Maintain tooling database with current and new purchases.
• Responsible for processes related to all CNC tooling provided and issued to the floor.
• Work with engineers to develop the best approach for new part introductions and provide technical support for optimization.
• Coordinate purchasing of cutting tools, tool holders and all supplies issued through the tool crib for shop floor.
• Accountable to meet-beat budget and track weekly spending with Finance.
• Ensure Long Term Agreements are optimized and review pricing on perishable tooling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for cost-effective solutions.
• Approve employee timecards and conduct annual reviews.
• Document accurately per AS9100 and NADCAP procedures.

Summary:

The Tool Crib Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the inventory, purchasing, and tracking of all tooling used on the manufacturing floor to produce landing gear and other aerospace components.

Main responsibilities:

• Overall accountability for tool crib/tooling functions, including supervision of tool crib personnel.

• Work with Finance to track weekly spending and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Ensure Long Term Agreements are optimized. Review and negotiate any new pricing or pricing increases on all perishable tooling
• Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives in developing the most cost-effective methods or corrective action when required
• Approve employee timecards and provide annual employee reviews.
• Documents accurately and in accordance with all protocols, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.

• Experience or demonstrated ability to negotiate tooling prices and manage vendor relationships.
