Staffmark Group is hiring a Tool & Die Technician in Gallatin, TN. The role focuses on building, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, fixtures, and related equipment to support production.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, experience with precision machining equipment, and the ability to work independently while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualificações

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training required.
• 3–5 years of Tool & Die or industrial manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating manual machine tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, models to determine tooling needs.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, and related machines.
• Measure and prepare metal stock for machining operations.
• Fabricate, repair, modify dies, tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances with precision instruments.
• Assemble tooling components for proper function.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and suggest improvements.
• Install sensors and quality monitoring devices in tooling systems.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain 5S in work areas and support lean initiatives.
• Cross-train to support team flexibility.

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced Tool & Die Technicians to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, fixtures, and related equipment that support production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with precision machining equipment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to determine tooling requirements.
• Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related shop machinery.
• Measure, mark, and prepare metal stock for machining operations.
• Fabricate, repair, modify, and maintain dies, tools, fixtures, and specialty equipment.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, tolerances, and clearances using precision measuring instruments.
• Assemble and fit tooling components to ensure proper functionality.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend design improvements when needed.
• Install and connect sensors or quality monitoring devices within tooling systems.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely when moving tooling or materials.
• Perform preventative maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
• Maintain organized work areas and adhere to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Cross-train with team members to support operational flexibility and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
• Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Tool & Die, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field preferred.
• Equivalent technical training and relevant work experience will be considered.
• 3-5 years of Tool & Die or industrial manufacturing experience.
• Must possess personal hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
• Experience operating manual machine tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Regular use of hands for tooling, assembly, and machine operation.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and crouching.
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment, vibration, noise, heat, and airborne particles.
• Must possess adequate vision for precision measurement, inspection, and machine operation.
