Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Tool and Die Repair Tech for the second shift at a growing Midwest facility. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain dies, tooling, and fixtures used in die casting, with emphasis on manual machining and TIG welding.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with trade school training a plus. You will work in a facility still being built out, contributing to process improvements and growth opportunities at the site.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in tool and die repair or related skilled trade.
• TIG welding experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
• Comfort with a newer, developing facility; flexibility is important.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair dies, tooling and fixtures used in die cast production.
• Perform manual machining operations on tooling components using lathes, mills and grinders.
• TIG weld to repair and build up dies and tooling components.
• Read blueprints and drawings to fabricate or repair tooling to spec.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues on the production floor and perform preventive maintenance.
• Adapt to evolving processes as the facility grows.

Job Details

Diagnose, repair and maintain dies, tooling and fixtures supporting die cast operations, with a strong emphasis on manual machining and TIG welding at a facility that's still being built out.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair dies, tooling and fixtures used in die cast production
• Perform manual machining operations, lathes, mills and grinders, to produce or repair tooling components
• TIG weld to repair and build up dies and tooling components
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate or repair tooling to spec
• Troubleshoot tooling issues on the production floor and perform preventive maintenance on dies
• Work adaptably in a facility still being built out, this role will see things evolve as the plant grows

What we're looking for
