Job summary

Marion County KY is seeking a Tool/Die Repair technician in Lebanon to maintain, repair, and optimize injection molds and tooling, supporting production and quality goals. You will troubleshoot mold issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work with CNC tools and precision measuring equipment.

The role requires reading blueprints and GD&T, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to prioritize repairs with production needs. This is a full-time, on-site position in Lebanon.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining injection molds, dies, or related tooling.
  • Read blueprints and understand basic GD&T.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes and mold construction.
  • Ability to safely operate tool-room machinery and hand tools.
  • Welding, machining, CNC, EDM, or mold-polishing experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds, dies, fixtures, and related tooling.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on molds and tooling.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble injection molds.
  • Diagnose and correct mold-related issues including flash, short shots, parting-line damage, wear, cooling problems, and ejection issues.
  • Repair or replace damaged components such as pins, bushings, inserts, slides, lifters, cores, cavities, springs, and other mold components.
  • Perform bench work including fitting, grinding, polishing, filing, and precision hand work.
  • Operate conventional and/or CNC machine tools, grinders, mills, lathes, and other tool-room equipment as required.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and gauges.
  • Make tooling modifications and adjustments to improve mold performance and part quality.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering drawings, mold drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Assist with mold tryouts and troubleshoot tooling problems on injection molding machines.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, preventive maintenance, and replacement components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool-room work area.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and modifying injection molds and related tooling to support safe, efficient, and consistent production. This position works closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure molds meet quality and production requirements.
