Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. is seeking a skilled tool and die professional in Michigan to troubleshoot and repair industry dies. You will work from blueprints to create or modify tools, verify critical dimensions, and conduct test runs to ensure parts meet specifications.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with progressive and line dies, and possess or be willing to obtain a Journeyman Card. Tools must be supplied by the worker, with pre-employment screening required.

• Requires ability to troubleshoot, read blueprints, and work with precision
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity to handle dies and tools
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening including background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair single hit, transfer and progressive dies
• Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, jigs and molds
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications and make adjustments as necessary
• Keep production boards and assignment boards up to date
• Work directly with apprentices to ensure they are meeting requirements
