POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Tool Room Supervisor, department lead, or higher classified journeyman, this position will perform entry-level Tool & Die Maker criteria, and progress through a series of established skill criteria leading to Journeyman level. Skill development will be reviewed periodically.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Successfully complete a basic skills inventory.
Successful completion of the following: Blueprint Reading (606-111), Applied Math I & II (804-370; 804-371), and Precision Measuring (623-185) classes.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and technical drawings, and safely operate tool room machinery.
Demonstrated understanding of modern punch press principles.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with whole numbers and decimals; understand geometric functions and perform basic calculations; and perform trigonometry calculations as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, lead personnel, and supervisors.
Ability to work with minimum supervision while maintaining acceptable levels of productivity.
