Job summary

Mindlink Resources is seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive Tongan Translator to support written translation projects across a variety of subject areas. We work with Educational/Local Gov/Other Non-Profit Clients based in Washington/Oregon, with US-based candidates strongly preferred.

This is a remote position focused on urgent requests such as City of Portland Parks and Rec, offering training through Mindlink’s Learning Center and opportunities for certification advancement and skill

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Tongan
• Minimum 3 years of professional translation experience
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Experience with CAT tools strongly preferred
• Ability to follow instructions, style guides, and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and culturally appropriate translations while meeting client deadlines.
• Follow client-specific style guides, glossaries, and terminology.
• Communicate clearly with the Mindlink team regarding availability, questions, or clarifications.
• Revise translations based on feedback when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics.
