Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Engineer III to support asset management, tolling operations, and infrastructure projects across BAITA and BAIFA initiatives. The role focuses on backhaul comms, power systems, HVAC, fire systems, lighting, and related facilities with responsibilities spanning planning, design, installation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and five years of related experience.
• Professional engineering license desirable.
• Knowledge of asset management and tolling operations.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned operations, maintenance, asset management, and infrastructure projects related to Toll Bridge Rehabilitation, Express Lanes, Open Road Tolling, and other MTC initiatives.
• Coordinate project scope, schedule, budget, procurement, project controls, and stakeholder communication throughout phases.
• Support asset management strategies to maintain infrastructure in a state of good repair at minimum practicable cost.
• Oversee consultant and contractor performance and enforce contract requirements.
• Identify risks, delays, and issues; coordinate with internal/external stakeholders including Caltrans.
• Lead meetings, prepare reports and presentations for management and Committees.
• Perform field visits, inspections, and act as on-call maintenance representative when needed.
