Job summary

Child Development in Oxnard, CA is seeking a dedicated toddler teacher under direct supervision of the site supervisor to implement school readiness goals and ensure Head Start/Early Head Start standards.

You will supervise children at all times, train and evaluate a toddler teacher aide, coordinate with staff on health, nutrition, and family engagement, and help create an engaging, inclusive learning environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 12 completed units in child development or ECE including 3 infant/toddler units and the core courses.
• California state-permitted associate teacher or higher; degree may substitute.
• Minimum six months of verifiable paid or volunteer preschool/toddler experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out school readiness goals and Head Start standards.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate toddler teacher aide with timely documentation.
• Assist with housekeeping, safety routines, and classroom preparation.
• Plan open-ended activities for diverse development levels and cultures.
• Document daily needs, attendance, and meals for each child.
• Engage families to develop educational and family goals.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, and related meetings.
