Job summary

Family Tree Ministry is seeking a dedicated Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Hartford, CT. The role focuses on nurturing a warm, structured classroom environment for children ages 1-3, while supporting daily routines and development across social, emotional, language, and motor domains.

You will collaborate with assistant teachers and leadership, follow licensing requirements and center policies, and communicate regularly with families to track progress and celebrate

Qualifications

• Experience with toddlers or young children in childcare/early childhood settings.
• Genuine interest in early childhood development and caregiving.
• Ability to maintain a calm, patient, and positive classroom presence.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Willingness to learn and use required documentation/assessment tools.
• Uphold and reflect the mission/values of Family Tree Ministry.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, nurturing, and structured classroom environment for toddlers (ages 1-3).
• Support daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, transitions, and play.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support social, emotional, language, and motor development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Observe and document children's development and communicate regularly with families.
• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and leadership to support classroom operations.
• Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state licensing regulations.
