Job summary

St. James Early Learning Center in Pensacola, FL is seeking a passionate Toddler Teacher to join our caring team. You will plan engaging activities and create a safe, nurturing classroom environment for toddlers, supporting early development.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, experience with toddlers, and knowledge of early childhood development. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable. A cooperative attitude and strong communication with families are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents and staff.
• Experience with toddlers or young children in childcare or education setting.
• Background check and licensing requirements must be met.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be current or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for toddler-aged children.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Monitor and support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child progress and daily activities.
• Maintain accurate developmental records, daily logs, and classroom documentation.
• Ensure classroom health and safety standards are consistently met and upheld.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support a positive learning community.

Requirements:

• Prior experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare or educational setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff
• Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with toddlers
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements
• Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
