Job summary

Building Kidz of Columbia is seeking an energetic and experienced Toddler Lead Teacher to guide a class through the school year, assess each child’s level, and design instruction to meet their needs. Our programs integrate arts and life experiences to foster confidence, commitment and character.

Office hours are standard with a focus on collaborative parent communication and ongoing professional development in Early Childhood Education.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• At least 1 year of experience in an early childhood program.
• 45 hour Infant/Toddler certification required.
• 90 hour certification (Growth and Development/Methods and Materials) preferred.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• CDA preferred.
• Willingness to complete First Aid & CPR training.
• Willingness to complete additional pre-service trainings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum
• Teach beginning reading and math skills
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
• Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
• Communicate with parents and other school personnel
• Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
