Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Chester County seeks a Toddler Assistant Teacher to support a safe, engaging educational program for young children. You will maintain a positive classroom environment, greet families, and follow licensing and YMCA policies.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 2,500 hours of childcare experience, and CDA certification; DHS requirements and trainings must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2,500 hours of childcare experience preferred.
• 30 credit hours of early childhood, elementary or related human services field education.
• 15 college credit hours and one-year experience related to the care.
• 2,500 hours of service.
• Current CDA certificate.
• Must keep an up-to-date DHS file and meet new hire certifications within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of all students.
• Provide a safe, clean, and risk-free environment.
• Engage with the children to encourage development and involvement in activities.
• Maintain upkeep of attendance records and sign-in/out sheets.
• Greet parents and children daily and report concerns.
• Follow DHS procedures and assist others in compliance.
