Job summary

Cooperative Children's Center is seeking a Toddler Assistant Teacher to help implement emergent curricula and support toddlers' social, emotional, and cognitive development in a caring, non-profit setting.

The role requires 18+, 1 year of childcare experience, and compliance with DCYF licensing. CPR/First Aid and TB/MMR vaccines are expected, plus a Washington Food Worker Card within a week of hire. In-person schedule, on-site in Washington, DC area.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• 1 year of experience in a childcare center.
• DCYF licensing requirements described in WAC Chapter 110-300.
• CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training within two weeks of hire.
• TB test documented.
• Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine documented.
• Washington State Food Worker Card within one week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support emergent curriculum by following each child's interests and choices.
• Foster a strong parent–teacher–child partnership for continuity between home and school.
• Promote anti-bias attitudes and inclusive practices in daily activities.
• Provide positive guidance and supportive interactions that nurture self-esteem.
