The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Operations Center (TOC) Operator in Portland. You will monitor the transportation system, manage radio communications and coordinate dispatches to safeguard travelers and maintain mobility.

Minimum qualifications include two years of public contact experience and one year of emergency dispatch using radio/phone/computer; LEDS certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of public contact experience that includes gathering, relaying, and providing information to others.
• One year of this experience must include receiving and dispatching emergency requests using radio equipment, telephone, and/or computer.
• Note: Completion of a Certified Emergency Communications Course may substitute for the one year of specialized experience.
• LEDS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Aufgaben

• Monitor transportation system conditions, radio communications and weather conditions.
• Implement incident and weather related response plans.
• Receive, input and notify crews about maintenance or repairs.
• Implement detour routes, including dispatching of staff and equipment.
• Review and maintain familiarity with statewide and regional SOPs and emergency plans.
