Montana Department of Justice’s Office of Consumer Protection seeks a Tobacco Attorney to diligently enforce the 1998 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA). The attorney handles investigations and prosecutions of Montana’s tobacco laws, represents the State in civil litigation, and participates in multi-state actions, reporting to the OCP Bureau Chief.

Rolling reviews begin after November 2nd. The role requires a JD, Montana Bar admission, and experience in specialized law and litigation;

Qualificações

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• At least two years of specialized law and litigation experience.
• Admission to and maintenance of licensure from the State Bar of Montana.
• If licensed outside MT, ability to become licensed in MT within one year.

Responsabilidades

• Represent the State of Montana in complex and routine civil litigation in state and federal courts and administrative forums.
• Supervise the Tobacco Paralegal and report to the OCP Bureau Chief.
• Participate in multi-state examination, investigation and litigation enforcing MSA and consumer protection laws.
