Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks a patient registration professional to support Tobacco Cessation Clinics across the system. You will schedule appointments, register patients, and communicate with patients referred to the Cessation Clinics.

This role requires a High School diploma, 3 years of relevant experience, and strong computer skills with proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office; Epic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and various software packages specific to role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and courteously communicate with a diverse group of internal and external calls.
• Good judgment skills to handle difficult situations.
• Good organization and time mangement skills.
• Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient referrals to Tobacco Cessation Clinics.
• Coordinates appointments to Tobacco cessation clinics.
• Ensures accurate registration and eligibility of patients with appropriate guarantor accounts.
• Acts as customer service liaison between Cessation clinics and patients.
• Supports the Tobacco Cessation program’s goals and objectives.
