Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year in hospital/clinic or similar patient interaction role.
• Preferred CHAM/CHAA or Medical Assistant certifications.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software.
• Strong verbal and written communication and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients and guests.
• Create, activate, and complete patient scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission process.
• Ensure all forms are completed and other paperwork/documents are gathered and accurate.
• Input patient/guarantor demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect payments.
• Perform financial analysis of each case and inform patient of financial responsibility.
• Balance cash drawer daily and close out at end of shift.
• Collaborate with other departments and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Maintain compliance with privacy, laws and regulations.
