Job summary

Sagchip in Mount Pleasant, MI seeks an IT Systems/Network Administrator to supervise network technicians and manage Windows servers, Active Directory, and security.

You will deploy and maintain network infrastructure, Exchange servers, firewalls, and IP addressing, provide after-hours support, and mentor staff while ensuring HIPAA and tribal policies.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of Systems and Network Manager, supervise network technicians and administer physical and logical network support, installation, and configuration. Integration, and help create and enforce system standards utilized by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal Government Operations and Business Enterprises.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the health, welfare, and integrity of all systems, network and network security services.
• Planning, deployment, and long-term maintenance of Active Directory infrastructure.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows systems as per operational and security requirements.
• Maintain Exchange servers, domain controllers, firewalls, and all networked appliances.
• Complete proxy configuring and maintaining proxy servers and clustering of appliances.
• Set up users and groups, permissions, and security.
• Support and Maintain all fiber optics interconnects, and LIU shelves.
• Implement software and security upgrades.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configuration and help desk procedures.
• Provide regular preventative maintenance on all Servers.
• Maintain and support all surveillance networking equipment.
• Maintain and support ADAC for the telephony network.
• Oversee management of IP Addressing; routing, scopes, dynamic and static, sub-netting, and Physical/MAC Addresses.
• Maintain Exchange, firewalls, intrusion detection system, and all logical networking aspects.
• Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, and documenting.
• Determine network and system requirements for all network and logical systems.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.
• Supervise multiple server room and data center environments.
• Administer support and configuration, of network hardware to include, but not limited to VLANs, LANs, WANs, WLANs, SSIDs, SPB, ADAC, firewalls, appliances, intranet, internet wireless controllers, bridges and access points.
• Write and update reports, business correspondence and procedural documents.
• Create, verify, modify and troubleshoot end user network accounts using Microsoft Active Director administrative applications, tools and utilities.
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Provide documentation of network systems, operational procedures, network topology and hardware inventory.
• Monitor and maintain networking services such as desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, upgrading equipment to the latest stable firmware releases, and file services.
• Design, test, implement and modify Group Policy to enforce and automate computer policy.
• Assist in the development of the network budget.
• Assist in the configuration of hosted IP voice and video services.
• Proactively search for and resolve potential risks, weaknesses and possible problem areas across the tribal LAN/WAN/WLAN.
• Design and implement new solutions and improving resilience of the current technical environment.
• Ensure firewall environments are in line with IT security policy.
• Assign configuration for network policy servers for authentication and authorization of directory services.
• Facilitate incident tracking, documentation and escalation.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical and general business periodicals, technical procedures and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor employees, through career path development, positive reinforcement, leading by example evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Lead special projects as assigned.
• Adhere to employee confidentiality and comply with department policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor`s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Five years` experience in Network Administration. Two years in a supervisory capacity.
• An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
• Experience in system, network, and network security.
• Experience with Network Operating Systems, Microsoft, and hardware.
• Fluent in SFP, SFP+, DAC, GBIC, single mode, multi mode fiber types and wave links 9um, 50um and 62.5um.
• Fluent in the following protocols 802.1Q, IP, UDP, ICMP, TCP, ARP, FTP, TFTP, DNS, IGMP, SNMP, IMAP, POP3, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SIP, SPB, PIM, OSPF, RSMLT, SMLT, MLT, L2TP, NPS, SLPP, ADAC.
• Must be able to work various shifts.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

• HIPAA certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver`s License and must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Driver`s License and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier.
• Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
