Job summary

Citarella is seeking a To-Go Department Manager in New York, NY to oversee in-store kitchen operations, inventory control, quality assurance, and team leadership. You will ensure high standards, manage schedules, and support multiple stations (hot bar, salad bar, soup bar, coffee) while maintaining profitability and accuracy.

The role requires 3+ years of kitchen supervision, strong math and communication skills, and a dedication to food safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ kitchen supervisor experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong food safety knowledge and adherence to standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the highest standards of quality and service; ensure food is replenished in a timely manner.
• Manage schedules, PTO time, timecards and labor.
• Assist with multiple-shift operations for hot bar, salad bar, soup bar, and coffee station.
• Prepare a variety of food products (breakfast/lunch, prepared foods, and salad bar items).
• Oversee kitchen staff, assign tasks, and set tone and pace of the kitchen.
• Monitor department profitability, appearance, and supervise team members.
• Review and analyze department sales, waste, and labor reports.
• Process and submit orders; keep track of department inventory.
• Adhere to all DOH, DOA and OSHA standards.
