Job summary

Anishinabeg Child and Family Services seeks a licensed or limited-licensed clinician to provide psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and therapy for child and family clients. You will work under ACFS supervision, coordinate care, and ensure confidentiality and quality service delivery.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field, plus experience with youth and families. Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or related field required.
• One year of mental health and co-occurring therapy experience with youth, children and families preferred.
• Excellent computer and communication skills; familiarity with Windows-based tools.

Position Summary:

• Under the supervision of Anishinabeg Child and Family Services Director, responsible for providing an array of clinical services for child clients under ACFS supervision.. Provide assessment, person-centered planning, monitoring, and advocacy regarding the needs of individuals and families. Provide culturally appropriate clinical services to individuals, families and groups for various mental health, co-occurring disorders and age groups. Work cooperatively with professionals and paraprofessionals while utilizing local and tribal resources. Participate in cultural and community events and activities on a regular basis. ACFS staff must adhere to mandated reporting laws. This is a grant-funded position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychosocial assessments; coordinate, monitor, evaluate and advocate for appropriate services.
• Maintain an active caseload of individual, family and/or group clients in order to meet assigned productivity level.
• Develop appropriate person-centered treatment plan to address the client's current psychosocial, mental health and substance use issues_.
• Monitor and evaluate client treatment progress according to measurable and date-specific goals and objectives stated in client's treatment plan.
• Ensure the timely completion of assessments, treatment plan reviews and discharge summaries to ethically manage the beginning, middle, and end phases of therapy.
• Provide individual child and group therapy.
• Demonstrate the utilization of appropriate Evidence Based Practices in the treatment of clients.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other service providers.
• Complete documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Meet with child clients within 24 to 48 hours of removal from homes.
• Participate as a member of clinical team that meets weekly in order to present cases for clinical feedback and direction.
• Adhere to patient confidentiality and comply with clinic policies and federal regulations under the Privacy rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPM).
• Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

• Contact with tribal youth, adults, families, the general public, social services, court or legal systems and other agencies and providers deemed appropriate to accomplish effective services and treatment exercising discretion and judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or related field.
• Limited licensed individuals who can obtain licensure within two years from date of hire.
• One year demonstrated mental health and co-occurring therapy experience with youth, children and families.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Must be willing to work a flexible/adaptable schedule as meets the needs of the program and clients served.
• Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Full Licensure is preferred

License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

• Obtain HIPAA certification within five business days from date of hire.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Driver's License and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier.
• Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
