Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking our next TMAC Database Administrator III (COMSEC Responsible Officer) to support the NISSC 3 program at Peterson Space Force Base. The role focuses on managing TMAC databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability in a TS/SCI setting.

The person will coordinate with system administrators, engineering staff, and COMSEC leadership to maintain compliant, secure databases and contribute to development, test, and sustainment activities.

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant experience in system/database administration within secure, mission-critical environments.
• 5-7 years of System Administration experience (Windows and/or Red Hat) in complex environments.
• 5-7 years as COMSEC Responsible Officer or equivalent COMSEC account management role.
• At least 1 year managing Microtech disk publishers (config/calibration/monitoring).
• Experience with platform engineering (e.g., Tanzu, Kubernetes) and server/network administration.
• Experience with Optical Media Tracking and disk cloning using Logicube drive cloners.
• Strong cross-functional coordination with systems, network, security, and engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or DoW/Military training in related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required to start; Security+ certification.
• VMware VCTA and VCP certifications; DoW 8140 qualifying certs; Cloud+/GSEC/SSCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and support TMAC databases ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Perform database account management per security least-privilege principles.
• Conduct backups, restorations, and recovery; maintain logs and validation.
• Apply database security updates and configuration changes to stay compliant.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance (tuning, indexing).
• Document maintenance actions and issues for audits and compliance.
• Provide user support and training on database tools and procedures.
• Coordinate with sysadmins and engineers for upgrades and problem resolution.
• Ensure compliance with operational and audit requirements; generate artifacts.
• Support integration with broader TMAC infrastructure and platform engineering.
