Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect SME with 11+ years in expert-level systems engineering and a TS/SCI clearance to support NORAD, NCMC-ITW/AA, and Space Support Contract III missions.

You will supervise engineering activities, apply formal SE processes, and lead integrated teams to resolve complex issues while ensuring traceability and risk management. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of progressive, expert-level systems engineering experience.
• Expertise in DoW systems engineering standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288).
• Technical baseline management, root cause analysis, and risk assessment.
• Leadership across cross-disciplinary teams for mission-critical systems.
• Strong in digital engineering, MBSE, documentation, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineering activities and coordinates with EDLM/UDLM managers.
• Leads systems engineering processes to support mission priorities and effectiveness.
• Directs teams to investigate deficiencies and manage technical debt.
• Validates test approaches and ensures traceability of docs to delivered systems.
• Conducts engineering reviews and supports change proposals.
