Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) seeks a TK & Kinder Program Leader for its Bayshore School-Based Club in Daly City. The role supports youth aged 3–6, delivers after-school activities, and fosters an engaging, safe environment during the school year and summer.

The position emphasizes relationship-building with youth, families, and staff, combined with strong program planning and mentoring duties to promote growth and education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Preschool–Kindergarten aged youth (ages 3–6) in a youth development setting and ability to create strong relationships & curriculum with youth.
• Strong positive disciplinary skills with youth with ability to manage behaviors and maintain high expectations.
• Proven communication, organizational, and self-starter ability.
• Strong ability to create and follow systems and procedures in a high-paced environment with continual distractions.

Responsibilities

• Supervision & Safety: Providing a safe and nurturing environment for youth participants.
• Program Facilitation: Creating and leading engaging after-school programs and activities for a group of approximately 10-20 youth.
• Lesson Planning: Developing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote personal growth, educational achievement, and character development.
• Mentoring: Serving as a positive role model and mentor to young participants, fostering their self-esteem and personal development.
• Clubhouse Cultivation: Creating standards and setting expectations based on mutual respect between staff and the community we serve.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborating with junior-level colleagues to ensure program goals are met and to share best practices.

Position Purpose

A Program Leader at a School‑Based Club possesses robust youth development skills rooted in relationships with youth, faculty, and families, complemented by extensive knowledge and experience in the field. They demonstrate the capacity to effectively oversee their department, consistently managing groups of children.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 25 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours during the summer

This role is available at our Bayshore School‑Based Club.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Experience working with groups of Preschool–Kindergarten aged youth (ages 3–6) in a youth development setting and ability to create strong relationships & curriculum with youth.
• Strong positive disciplinary skills with youth with ability to manage behaviors and maintain high expectations.
• Proven communication, organizational, and self‑starter ability.
• Strong ability to create and follow systems and procedures in a high‑paced environment with continual distractions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates with education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related fields.
• Candidates with ECE (Early Childhood Education) units.
• Proven leadership or mentorship experience.
• Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment).
• Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a 10‑passenger vehicle.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
• Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry‑level, mid‑level or top‑of‑the‑range for their role and compensation. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $24 – $25.
