Job summary

Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking an Elementary Paraeducator (TK) to support instructional goals in an elementary general education setting. The successful candidate will assist the teacher, support literacy and numeracy, and work with small groups of students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass the District’s Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test in reading, math, and per the Federal No Child Left Behind Act.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary classroom teacher in providing instruction to students.
• Use instructional methods to help achieve goals and raise student achievement.
• Utilize curriculum materials and assessments for literacy and numeracy.
• Work with small groups to reinforce instruction.
• Provide individual assistance and explain errors to students.
• Assist with monitoring student behavior in the classroom and during activities.
• Assist students with lessons, games, and activities.
• Communicate progress with the classroom teacher.
