St. Dorothy Catholic School educates students from Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade in academic and social skills. The School provides a Christian environment in which the curriculum emphasizes moral, ethical, and spiritual values of the Catholic Church within the world community.

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Elementary/Junior High Music Teacher to join our staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the music industry or music education, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to inspire students to develop a lifelong love for music while preparing them for high school music programs. An understanding of Catholic liturgy and liturgical music is preferred.

• Implement a comprehensive music curriculum for students in grades TK-8
• Plan and facilitate engaging music lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
• Organize and lead school performances, concerts, and other musical events to showcase students’ achievements.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary lessons and promote cross-curricular connections.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on students’ progress and encourage their involvement in music education.
• Plan music for weekly school liturgies and lead rehearsals for Worship Band and/or Choir

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification/license (if applicable).
• Previous experience teaching music to elementary/junior high students.
• Strong musical proficiency and knowledge of music theory, vocal techniques, and various musical instruments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential in music.
• Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Experience leading and planning liturgical music for Catholic masses is preferred.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
