General Description

Provides support for teachers and schools as directed. Indian Education Tutors, all areas, especially math.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintains a professional relationship with students, parents, and educators. Provides one on one or small group support in extended time programs to students identified for additional instructional support/tutoring.
• Work collaboratively with Indian Education teacher(s) in determining supplemental instruction to be implemented with students identified for additional support/tutoring.
• Provides further reinforcement of skills as prescribed by the teacher. Assists teacher in ongoing assessment of students identified for additional instructional support/tutoring.
• Adheres to federal laws; state regulations; district policy; including maintaining confidentiality of all information regarding students. Adheres to all building site procedures; classroom management rules and routines; as well as safety practices and procedures.
• Responsible for following directives of certified school personnel and carrying through with all activities deemed appropriate by the teacher who has classroom instruction and management responsibilities.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of the content, concepts, principles and methodologies of mathematics and reading/language arts education in a public school setting; of Oklahoma PASS; program implementation of mathematics and reading/language arts; training will be provided.
